Hazelnut cultivation techniques ramets and root pod reproduction

2, ramets and roots breeding

1 strain breeding

There are two methods for the propagation of the trifoliate plants: first, the mother plants are all excavated and divided into small clusters or individual plants. Each plant has a root system and 1-2 shoots. The second method is to dig the roots around the mother plants. Several plants were separated and the mother plants remained.

The seedlings should retain 20 cm of roots and a certain number of fibrous roots. After the seedlings leave the mother, the shoots should be cut short, leave 15-20 centimeters long, and be immediately implanted to keep it moist and prevent water loss.

2. Root Propagation

There are two methods for breeding roots: one is to excavate roots around the existing plants and obtain seedlings; the other is to breed in a specialized mother garden.

The parent strains that are to be propagated should be flattened in the spring to promote the development of roots. During the growth period, sufficient fertilizer and water supply should be ensured, and sparse cutting should be carried out properly to ensure that the root pods are not overly dense. This ensures that the root pods are well developed and that they are easy to dig for seedlings in autumn.
