Value of color Doppler ultrasound in postoperative evaluation of autologous arteriovenous fistula in elderly dialysis patients

Recently, researchers from the Department of Ultrasound, General Staff of Chongqing Iron and Steel Group General Hospital published a paper to investigate the clinical value of color Doppler ultrasound in the treatment of autologous arteriovenous fistula (AVF) in elderly patients with end-stage renal disease. The study pointed out that color Doppler ultrasound is an important means of monitoring AVF, and it has important practical value for prolonging the use time of mouthwash and improving the quality of life of hemodialysis patients. The article was published in the 15th issue of Modern Medicine and Health in 2015.
From December 2010 to October 2014, 106 patients with end-stage renal disease were divided into groups according to age. 81 patients in the elderly group (≥60 years old) and 25 patients in the control group (<60 years old), including the average age of the elderly group (68.3± 7.3) years old, control group (45.1 ± 5.2) years old. The sputum development, complications and blood flow parameters of AVF were observed and compared in the two groups, and statistical analysis was performed.
The incidence of complications such as poor maturation of the mouth after AVF in the elderly group [19.75% (16/81)] was significantly higher than that in the control group [8.00% (2/25)], and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Compared with preoperative, the venous venous diameter and sputum blood flow increased in the elderly group and the control group at 2, 3, and 6 months after operation, but the elderly group increased slowly compared with the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). .
