The p-phenotype blood, which is rarer than "panda blood", was discovered in Hainan Province a few days ago. This blood type was confirmed by the Hainan Provincial Blood Center and the Shanghai Blood Center.
Hainan Provincial Blood Center recently found a blood type test for a blood donor and found it to be p-phenotype blood. It is understood that the Han people have about 1 / 1 million people with this blood type. As of now, less than 10 cases have been detected nationwide.
According to experts from the Hainan Provincial Blood Center, anti-Tja antibodies are present in p-type blood serum, which can agglutinate all phenotypic red blood cells except the p-phenotype. When a p-type patient receives 25 ml of non-p-type blood, a severe hemolysis reaction occurs. The blood of p blood donors can be stored frozen for a long time, in case of blood type patients.
Experts advise that if a woman is of this type of blood type, both husband and wife should perform a blood type test during pregnancy to predict the impact on the fetus so that effective measures can be taken in time to prevent habitual abortion and neonatal hemolytic disease and ensure the health of the fetus.
