Youth Drug Abuse Key Population

According to the latest report, the State Food and Drug Administration has recently released the “National Monitoring Report on Drug Abuse (2012)”. The report shows that compared with the monitoring data in the past five years, the proportion of “ice” abusers has increased, which is an increase of 14.9%. Adolescents aged 25 and younger have become key drug abusers.

Monitoring data in 2012 showed that young people aged 25 and below account for about 1/2 of the initial drug abusers. Of the women who abuse new synthetic drugs, more than 60% of primary drug abusers are 25 years of age or younger. Under the current situation of drug abuse, the education of health education related to drug abuse is particularly important for adolescents of 25 years of age and younger, especially young women, and it is important to prevent the abuse of new synthetic drugs.

The report shows that new synthetic drug abusers have become the main body of new drug abusers. Among new drug abusers, new synthetic drug abusers such as “ice” have gradually increased, and their share has increased from 28.8% in 2008 to 75.1% in 2012.

Drug abuse refers to the use of dependent drugs for non-medical purposes, including occasional, tentative and repeated, and mass use. The use of self-administration by drug users leads to drug dependence, mental confusion and some abnormal behaviors. Besides impairing the physical health of drug abusers, it also brings serious social problems.
