Rabbit breeding techniques
1. Breeding Crossbreeding involves the crossing of two or more breeds of rabbits to produce a new breed (strain) of rabbits, which is completed through three stages of crossbreeding, shaping and expanding.
2. Hybrids obtained by crossbreeding two breeds of rabbits. After 2-3 generations of this kind of breeding, excellent individuals were selected and cross-bred and cross-breeding were carried out for self-propagation. The cross-stitched rabbit population was basically the same as the improvement group.
3. Economic hybrids In order to achieve a good economic utilization effect, two breeds or strains are mated. For example, two or more breeds of male rabbits are bred with some hybrid females to mate with each other to obtain hybridization advantage for recurrent hybridization; two varieties of four varieties or lines are crossed and then two hybrids are bred for two-hybridization.
4. Introduction of Hybrids In order to change some of the shortcomings of the original varieties, local breed rabbits were improved by foreign blood. The hybrid male rabbits can be selected to be crossed with native breed females (introducing an alien blood relationship). Later generations of hybrids are backcrossed with this species, and the excellent ones can be selected from the backcross generation (1/8 of the foreign blood). Individuals are subjected to cross-breeding and fixed breeding. Rabbits of meat breeds can be introduced and hybridized through the introduction of large breed males and local medium females. The hybridization effect should not be lower than or higher than the average of male and female rabbits. Small size female rabbits are introduced and hybridized (colors should be the same), commercial rabbits after hybridization should not be lower than or higher than the average of female and male rabbits, hairy rabbits should be introduced, smaller male rabbits should be introduced, and local size is smaller. The female rabbits were introduced into hybrids (colors were consistent), and the quality of the hybrid rabbits after production was not lower than or higher than the average of the male and female rabbits. The introduction of hybrids is suitable for fattening meat rabbits of different breeding scales, raising the grade of skin rabbits and improving the yield of high quality rabbit hair.
