“Fish ponds grow vegetables, mainly to purify water quality.†Hu Qingjie, director of the Miyun County Aquatic Technology Promotion Station, introduced that water quality control is a major problem for pond fish farming. Due to the high density of fish farming, there are many feeds and there are many fish excretions. Over time, water, ammonia, nitrogen, phosphorus, and nitrous acid can easily cause excessive levels of water, and the risk of fish disease and death increases greatly.
This year, the Miyun County Aquatic Technology Promotion Station actively promoted the demonstration and demonstration of the eutrophication technology of the biological treatment pond. In the experimental area of ​​the Renshan Fish Farm, it planted 90 square meters of water spinach, totaling 40,000 strains. The required seedlings and foam "floating bed" are all provided free of charge by the county.
Aquatic vegetables that take root in water can convert excess nitrogen, phosphorus, and other harmful substances in the water body into nutrients, so no fertilization is required and no separate management is required after planting.
Aquatic vegetables increase the efficiency of the use of ponds and beautify the environment. At the same time, aquatic vegetables greatly reduce water eutrophication by absorbing harmful substances in the water, thereby greatly improving water quality.
A fishpond of the Feng Shanqin family, the president of the Renshan Farming Cooperative, occupies an area of ​​15 acres. “There used to be more fish, and the degree of eutrophication was so high that fish often became sick and they had to change the water at the ponds. This was introduced this year. Batches of aquatic spinach have significantly improved water quality, and fish are not sick.â€
