Breeding Chicken Management Technology
Breeding chickens are also known as medium-sized chickens or young chickens. The chickens are fed 42-56 days later and they are bred. This stage lasts until 18-20 weeks, after about 3 months. Breeding chickens is more tolerant and less diseased. The entire system of chickens, especially the reproductive system, gradually matures. During this period, the following points should be achieved:
First, the goal of breeding chickens
Healthy and disease-free, body weight meets the standards of the breed, good muscle development, no extra fat, bones, and good physical condition.
Second, transfer group
It is to transfer the chickens from the brooding room to the broiler house for feeding. The time is 7-8 weeks old. Before the group is transferred, the breeding room must be completely disinfected to meet the requirements of health and epidemic prevention. The chickens are selected during the transition process, and the sick and weakly disabled individuals are strictly eliminated. When the group is transferred, the original chickens are still put together, which can reduce the strangeness of the chickens and fight each other.
Third, the breeding of chicken breeding density
The stocking density should meet three requirements: number per square meter, feeding position, and drinking position.
IV. Weighing and Feeding of Breeding Chickens
To achieve the best production performance, weight management of a bird's life is very important, so the breeding period is weighed at least every two weeks. The number of weighed chickens can be determined according to the size of the group. Generally, 5%-10% of hens and breeders should be weighed randomly, but the number of weighings per group is not less than 30. If the weight of the chicken is found to be lower than the standard, the number of feedings may be appropriately increased, or the crude protein level of the feed may be appropriately increased; if the weight exceeds the standard, a limited-time limit-limited feeding shall be adopted.
Fifth, prevent bred chicken early or late
Through weighing, it is found that when the growth rate is too fast or too slow, measures must be taken to control weight in time, and to control the mass and limited quantity of the body. More limited methods are used in production because it ensures that the chicken eats a balanced diet. It should also be used to limit the exposure time to prevent premature or late-maturing broiler chickens. Generally, 8 hours of light per day can be used to prevent premature bred chickens. If the chickens are underweight, daily light from 13 weeks can be prevented from 13 weeks to prevent broilers from becoming late mature. Note that the lighting time cannot be changed freely and the feeding is completed within the lighting time.
