Want to fight cancer? According to the Cancer Prevention White Paper issued by the Taiwan Cancer Foundation, one in four people on average will suffer from cancer. To help people prevent cancer, the Taiwan Cancer Foundation recommends that people can start from food and eat more than nine types of foods, and ingest nutrients that are beneficial to cancer prevention.
The nine categories of food are provided by Jin Zhongxiao, an associate professor of physiology at the National Defense Medical College. They are:
First, fish: Because fish contain omega-3 fatty acids, can reduce cholesterol, reduce blood platelet aggregation, reduce coronary artery obstruction and myocardial infarction, animal experiments found that can inhibit colorectal cancer.
Second, cruciferous vegetables: cauliflower, mustard, cabbage, cabbage, broccoli, etc., is rich in antioxidant vitamin C and carotene, can fight free radicals damage to cells. In addition, these vegetables also contain "primed flowers" and "sulphur-containing organic compounds." The former has the function of preventing breast cancer. The latter can produce many enzymes in the body and release the carcinogenic toxin.
Third, soybeans: Soybean contains "isoflavonoids", to help prevent the occurrence of some cancers. Medical research has confirmed that 60 grams of soybeans are eaten every day. The effective concentration of anticancer in the blood is sufficient to inhibit the growth of half of the breast, endometrial, ovarian, and prostate cancers.
4. Grains and grains: Cereals and grains are rich in "saponins" and can relieve the activity of carcinogens in the intestines. The rich fiber has been determined to have the effect of preventing the occurrence of colon cancer.
5. Vegetables containing organic compounds such as selenium and sulfur: onions and garlic are rich in sulfur, selenium and sulfa allyl cysteine, which can help liver detoxify and prevent liver cancer. According to a large-scale study in the United States, garlic can also reduce the incidence of colorectal cancer in addition to heart disease prevention; people who eat three cloves of garlic each week have a one-third less chance of suffering from colorectal cancer than people who do not eat it.
Six, vitamin C-containing foods: Vitamin C can reduce the body's free radical damage to cell genes, to prevent cell cancer, and foods rich in vitamin C, including grapefruit, citrus, lemon, pomelo and so on.
7. Red fruits and vegetables: Tomatoes, papayas, cantaloupes, sweet potatoes, etc. are all rich in carotene, which can be converted into vitamin A in the body after ingestion to achieve eye protection and anti-oxidation pressure. The study also found that excessive intake of carotene can inhibit the occurrence of prostate cancer.
8. Tea and Red Wine: Red wine is fermented together with grape skins to preserve valuable antioxidants in grape skins and prevent free radicals from harming the human body. It is known that free radicals produced by the oxidation of human cells can cause hypertension, diabetes, myocardial infarction, stroke and cancer. Studies have shown that drinking a small glass of red wine each day can reduce the incidence of these diseases, but overdose will increase the mortality of alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. In addition, tea and red wine contain flavonoids, which have a preventive effect on some cancers.
Nine, leaves: broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage and spinach are rich in folic acid, can increase the amount of methionine in the blood, has anti-cancer effect.
